Virgin Town will be holding a municipal Election on November 7, 2017 for one four (4) year term Mayoral seat and two four (4) year term Council seats.  These seats are presently held by Mayor J. Bruce Densley and Council Members Jean Krause and Jay Lee.

Declaration of Candidacy and Nominating Petition forms must be filed in person with Town Clerk, Monica Bowcutt, at 114 S. Mill St., Virgin, Utah from June 1, 2017 to June 7, 2017, during regular Business Hours, which are 9:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday through Thursday, WE ARE CLOSED FRIDAYS. 

No filings will be accepted after 2:00 pm on June 7, 2017.

Qualifications for a candidate, pursuant to Utah State Municipal Election Code: 

1.    Be a United States citizen at the time of filing. 

2.    Be a resident of the Town of Virgin for a period of at least 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the date of the election. 

3.    Be a registered voter in the Town of Virgin. 

4.    Any mentally incompetent person, any person convicted of a felony, or any person convicted of treason or a crime against the elective franchise may not hold office in this state until the right to hold elective office is restored as provided by statute.
